Thorpe

Niilo tarvitsi uuden lämpimän myssyn ja minäpä tein.

Niilo desperately needed a new warm hat and I knit one for him.

Ohjeena on useimmille jo tuttu Thorpe. Kiva ohje, toimii hyvin lapsen hatussa.

Most of you probably recognize the pattern, Thorpe. A nice pattern, works well for a toddler hat.

Lankana on ShibuiKnits Baby Alpaca DK, jota neuloin kaksinkertaisena. Nelosen puikoilla pinnasta tuli mukavan tiivis. Koska lanka oli ohjetta ohuempaa, tein suurimman koon mukaan, korvaläpät tosin vähän ohjetta pienempinä.

The yarn is ShibuiKnits Baby Alpaca DK, double strand. US#6 needles made the knitted surface thick and warm. Because the yarn was thinner than specified in the pattern, I knitted the size large, but with slightly smaller earflaps.

Virkattu reunus on Dropsin Alpacaa.

I used Drops Alpaca for the crocheted edge.

Baby Alpaca on ehkä maailmankaikkeuden ihaninta lankaa!

Baby Alpaca might be the most wonderful yarn I have ever knitted with!

Jotta hattu olisi riittävän lämmin myös paukkupakkasilla, tein siihen vuorin mikrofleecestä. Ja nyt ei kutita, sanoo Niilo.

To make it warm enough for winter coldness, I lined the hat with microfleece. And it is soft and comfy, says Niilo.

  1. I don’t think I ever paid attention to the pattern but I love it. That lining is so cool! I am going to have to knit one soon. I am thinking Niilo is going to grow up with wonderful memories of a mommy who cares for him well.

  2. Lucky Niilo! What a clever idea to add the fleece lining! Glad to hear that somewhere on the globe, people are experiencing a “normal” winter. Thanks for sharing your photos!
